There are so many reasons to get stuck in to what’s going on in school & so many ways to do it. We know for example that the more involved parents are in school life, the better their children tend to do in school.
But don’t just do it for them – do it for yourself. We run loads of courses & workshops in our amazing Family Learning room; we have a thriving parent community & countless ways to volunteer in school.
So go on. Start small. Put in a little. Get out a lot.
How can I get involved?
Courses & workshops
We love running courses for parents & families & we’ve got the perfect premises to do it. In the last couple of years, we’ve run the following dizzying array:

- Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC)
- Wellbeing & mental health
- Reading
- Maths
- Restorative approaches

The menu of activities is constantly refreshed so get in touch with the office on admin@bygrove.org.uk to find out what’s currently on offer & what’s coming up. Or why not suggest something that you want & we’ll see what we can do? It’s never too late to learn & there’s something for everyone.
Volunteering
People in strong communities volunteer. We love volunteers in our school! We have lots of them & they do an amazing job. Some of our volunteers are parents & others come from the local business community. Some are looking for work experience but the vast majority just want to give something back; they love working with the children & they can see the difference they’re making. If you’d like to volunteer at Bygrove, call or email admin@bygrove.org.uk
